I was recently searching on Google with the term “DoFollow” to see what other people were saying about the “U Comment I Follow” movement, and on the front page was a link titled More People Spread Link Love With DoFollow : Instigator Blog. No harm in posting a comment and getting a cheeky backlink I thought. Little did I realize what I had stumbled upon.
Instigator Blog is run by Ben Yoskovitz, an entrepreneur and opportunity seeker who “turns your ideas into a thriving business”. Ben focuses on entrepreneurship, business, technology and marketing with a “heavy dose of humor”. Yoskovitz, with over ten years behind him in web and software development, is also responsible for IGotNewsForYou.com, a funny and clever site which creates a mock newspaper front page with stories about a person of your choice, and recruitment site StandoutJobs.com.
After the Link Love article, I moved on to the much commented Is Home Depot Scamming People with Fake Comments? and then 9 Signs the Online Job Market is Broken, which features a really terrific video job ad, and finally came to the conclusion that Instigator Blog needed the Spud Oregon treatment!
With an archive of near daily posts dating back to early 2006, Instigator Blog is a real whopper! So I’ve picked out some of my favorites from early on in the archive, to help you guys catch up on the educational ramblings of Ben Yoskovitz.
As I said, that’s just a handful of articles from 2006. One thing I found interesting was that some of Ben’s articles are very similar to those I’ve been reading on other blogs lately. The difference is that Ben’s are older, so I guess I’m not the only one who finds the wealth of information on Instigator Blog worth writing about!

Spud - I just saw a ton of trackbacks and thought, “Oh, oh…someone is spamming me with something,” but I came over and read this great review. Thanks.
I don’t really have more to say than that because it’s quite something to see such a detailed and positive review of a blog. But now I’ve found a new site to explore as well…
You’re welcome Ben, thanks for the great articles! This is where the fun begins as Nice4Rice readers decide whether to vote for your blog with little blue bowls of rice. Come back from time to time to see how your review is fairing in the Top Rice Earners rankings!
Spud, another stellar review!
Wow Spud, this is a great catch! I already bookmarked this one and I’ll definitely be dropping in. This kind of blog is right up my alley! And Ben, welcome to the Nice4Rice family. Keep on checking back because this site rocks rice!
Good to see a review about a site and a blogger I guess from the recent past? who is so much better than most of what is currently out there.
Have a tasty bowl of rice for your efforts, Mr Yoskovitz
Yes another benefit of making your blog ‘link love enabled’ - people like the rice man visit and bestow upon you much rice loving glory!

Thank you for the positive feedback so far. Is 3 rice bowls good? Am I getting my full of rice yet? *smile*
ahhh, nice little blue bowls of rice
Now I remember! This was the post that I first got a glimpsed of the NoFollow movement! It was you Spud who convinced me (unknowingly on your part, that is). I remember tinkering with my template and hoping that everything will work out! And now, I AM HAPPY! My Blog is a DoFollow Blog! More power, Spud! When will you ever be in Manila? Be sure to let me know, okay! Treat you to lunch - with lots of rice! That’s a promise, buddy! And I kid you not!
