Ray Johnson’s Link Rambler blog is one of those little known, new to the scene blogs which I just love giving some exposure to. Ray’s idea is to keep us informed of link baiting tactics, such as promotions, memes, giveaways and contests, or just novel ways to get a free backlink! Yes, Nice4Rice is one of the sites that he mentions on his blog!
Examples of some of the contests Ray has written about include John Chow’s Microsoft Zune, The Blog World’s Flipping Rich T-shirts, and PureBlogging.com’s 8GB iPod Nano.
I’m a bit confused as to why there is a “Contest” category with the above promotions, yet the “Contention”, “Drawings” and even “Blogroll” categories offer more of the same. I can’t see the difference, so hopefully Ray will merge them into one.
As well as a growing list of internet-related conferences and events, such as Ebay Live 2007 and the Search Marketing Expo, Link Rambler also highlights a few review exchange opportunities, too. So if you’re running one, or a contest for that matter, you really ought to let him know!
One of Ray’s more interesting posts is about Joel Comm’s reality TV show “The Next Internet Millionaire”. Maybe this is common knowledge among those of you in the States, but it was the first I heard of it. I hope Ray won’t mind me borrowing the video from his post “Who will be the Next Internet Millionaire?”
I can’t see any reason why you wouldn’t subscribe to Link Rambler. Rather than hope to stumble across a new “blog promotion” opportunity yourself, let Ray do the work for you!
