Nice4Rice might look like just another blog, but don’t let the Wordpress backend fool you. If you want to climb the Technorati rankings, you’re going to need backlinks, and that’s exactly what this site will give you.
Okay Spud, how do I get a free backlink?
You can get a free backlink by “giving rice” to a post on this site. “Giving rice“ is a just a Spud Oregon way of saying “voting”, and you can vote for as many posts as you can find.
So, how do I vote?
If you’re reading a post on the front page of Nice4Rice, then you’ll see a “Give Rice” link below the article. Clicking it will take you to the voting form on the post’s actual page.
The voting form is between the article and the comments.
Type in your website’s URL, title and a brief description, and click the “Give Rice!” button. If you don’t have your own website, you can vote on behalf of your favorite website. I’m sure they’ll appreciate the link!
Once you’ve given rice, you’ll get a little “thank you” message. You’ll need to reload the page for your link to show up.
After you’ve refreshed the page, you should see your generous bowl of rice, which is a permanent link to your site! When you hover over it, you can see the description you typed in, and your URL shows up in your browser’s status bar, as shown below.
That’s cool! But what happened to my site’s title?
The title you entered in the voting form is used in the Top Rice Givers’ lists. The title is based on your most recent vote, so if you make a typo, just vote for another post with the correct information.
What’s to stop me spamming the rice outta this site?!
You can only vote for the same post once from the same IP address. Oh, and if you try voting on the same post twice with the same URL, even from different IPs, you’ll get a “Sorry, but someone has already voted with this URL” message. You can vote for more than one article though!

That’s funny, I was just reading about nightclubbing in Singapore the other day. I couldn’t remember where I read it, but when I clicked your rice I found myself back to that same article! Sure CS, I’ll give you a review in the next few days.

So, I can’t give rice to the same site even if my site is different from the previous vote? I used my What’s On My Mind to vote for Culture Shiok! earlier. Can I vote for that same site using my other new blogs like C5 Under The Sun and C5’s How To Solve The Problem? Well, I need backlinks for them since they’re very new.
