This blog has closed. Sorry!

I had heard of Michael Kwan, freelance writer and guest blogger on John Chow’s site, but I hadn’t actually visited his personal blog Beyond the Rhetoric until today. I’ve passed through many blogs churning out tips and tricks to boost traffic and earn extra dollars from blogging, and expected the same from Michael, but what I found was quite different and a welcome change.
BTR is actually a random mix of anything and everything. Michael writes about the wacky Jeremy Clarkson and his popular car show Top Gear; upcoming movies which I hadn’t even heard of such as 300; homemade roller coasters, Google phones, and spiders in toilet bowls.
As you would expect from a professional writer, Michael captivates the reader (or at least me) with all manner of articles. I found myself watching a video of a two-year old opening his birthday present, reading about another movie I wasn’t expecting - Transformers, and finally checking out BTR’s Top Posts list and considering donating to former Saved by the Bell star “Screech”, who is apparently now broke.
All in all, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed reading through Beyond the Rhetoric, and Michael definitely deserves some rice. Hey, it might even help him catch Kumiko Suzuki!

Thanks for the highlight article! You’ve certainly got an interesting concept on this site.
And yes, the focus of my blog is not so much about making money online as it is just about whatever I want to write about. In the future, I hope to make a few more focused posts on the industry of freelance writing, how to get into, what you can expect, and so on.

Hey Michael, thanks for the return review! It’s awesome!
Beyond the Rhetoric is one of my favorite blogs to read. While the John Chows of the world are great, it’s nice to read something a little more varied!
One of the few blogs I’m subscribed to!
