Sports fan Derrich, of derrich.com, writes about all manner of things including basketball, investing, cars and business. The post that caught my attention though was his Bloggers Tournament idea.
All he did was pick 8 of his favorite blogs, seed them according to their Alexa rankings, and invite people to vote with comments (and later with Pollburner). Before he knew it, a couple of the blog owners had asked their readers to come and vote for them, driving traffic to Derrich’s blog.
A simple but effective way to promote a site, and definitely worth a bowl of rice.
While you’re over at Derrich’s blog, you might want to read his summary of earnings for February 2007. He earned just under a hundred dollars for the month from Adsense, Amazon and Linkshare.
It’ll be interesting to see how much extra revenue he pulls in from the Bloggers Tournament ‘campaign’.
